Beginning January 3, 2011 Basketball Open Gym sessions will be limited to 20 attendees each night in order to allow sufficient playing time. Attendees will be admitted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The fee for open gym attendance is $2 per person per night.
Covington Community Sports (CCS) offers “Open Shoot” basketball for individuals (ages 14 and up) to come out, shoot around, maybe organize a casual pick-up game, but mainly for fun with family and friends and of course, exercise. Each participant is expected to sign in, pay the $2 fee (per night) and agree to the friendly play terms. In addition, remembering that we are guests in the schools, so please act accordingly.
With that said here are the no-no’s:
No food or drinks in the gym
No tobacco on school grounds (or alcohol for that matter)
No hanging off the rim
Below are PROJECTED dates for "Open Shoot" - please remember that short notification of facility unavailability happens quite a bit and we will do our best to let you know as soon as possible.
Basketball "Open Shoot" will be held at MATTSON MIDDLE SCHOOL or KENTWOOD HIGH SCHOOL on the following dates at the times listed below.
To access Gym #3 at KENTWOOD, we suggest parking in the lot near the baseball/softball fields off 256th. As you pull in the parking lot, look straight ahead at the end of the parking lot - the New Gym is the building to the right of the portable. Go around the right side of the building for entry.
To access Gym #1 at KENTWOOD, we suggest parking in the main lot near the front entrance.
